  • Laptop & LCD Repair

Since I was a child I have always LOVED taking things apart!  As an adult, I have more focus and understand that I have to put it back together right!  Since I have been working in a local shop for close to 4 years now I have found that I really love fixing laptops.  For at least the last 3 years I have been known as the “laptop guy,” while my coworker Tracey has been known as the “printer guy.”  Over the years I have repaired hundreds of laptops by replacing keyboards, LCD’s, motherboards, bezels, DC jacks, etc.

So I offer my repair services at an affordable price!  Below are the types, descriptions, and payment links for my most common repairs:

    • Laptop DC jack repair
    • Desktop LCD capacitor replacement

If you need something else done to your laptop or something else, just contact me. I can give you a rough estimate/quote for any repair you may need.

    1. Laptop DC Jack Repair:
Here is what I do, how it works, and how much it costs:
The payment structure may seem a bit confusing but I do this to try and make this as fair as possible for the both of us.  90% of the time I am able to repair the laptops that are sent to me.  On occasion though there are other problems with the motherboard and/or something else happened to the laptop.  I ask $29.95  to do several diagnostic tests, disassemble your laptop, replace the DC jack, and reassemble the laptop.  If there are other problems and I am unable to fix it, I will contact you and send it back.  If it is just the DC jack and I repair it, then I will request a $49.95 repair fee payment and I ship the laptop back to you the day I receive payment.

So it will cost $29.95 for me to diagnose the problem with your laptop, attempt to fix it, and send it back to you.  If I cannot fix your laptop I will tell you why and you have only spent $29.95.  If I fix your laptop it will only cost you a total of $79.90, which in all honesty is quite reasonable.  I have heard of quotes from Best Buy being $200+ and seen many other people charge $120+!!  My service is probably better than most of the others for a few reasons.  First, I am an honest person and will not attempt to rip you off.  Second, I personally do all the repairs.  Most of the other people you find out there employ other people to do the repairs or ship your laptop off to another location for repair.  So you are paying a “fat cat” to have their low wage and possibly disgruntled employee fix your laptop, think he/she wants to do a good job or really cares??

Here is what you need to do:
    1. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.
    2. Make payment and I will give you my shipping address.
    3. Ship your laptop to me, be sure to include the power adapter. Pack it well and insure it for its replacement value (to be safe in the event that the package could be damaged in transit).
    4. Promptly answer emails or phone calls when I contact you.

    Some Notes:

    1. I DO need the power adapter for your laptop, that is a must.
    2. I do NOT need your hard drive, if you have sensitive information on it then keep it.  I do prefer that the hard drive be shipped so I can test everything to make sure it all works but it is not completely necessary.  I respect your privacy so do whatever you are comfortable with.
    3. There are no hidden fees and I will not charge you for anything else, unless you request that I fix something else.
    4. Turn around time depends on shipping. I will repair your laptop within 1-2 days of receiving it and will ship it back the day I receive final payment. So in most cases you will have your laptop back within a week.

    2. Desktop LCD Monitor Repair:
Desktop LCD repair is something new I started in September 2009.  A customer of my laptop DC jack repairs inquired if I could fix desktop LCD monitors.  At the time I honestly didn’t know if I could or not but after receiving some units from him I found it was usually a cost effective repair.  In most cases the LCD monitor just needs some capacitors replaced and luckily they are usually pretty cheap.  In some cases though there is a burnt up circuit board and usually that is not cost effective to replace.  If I find this kind of damage, I will contact you and if you wish will get an estimate on the cost of the replacement board.
For $49.95 I will replace up to 8 capacitors on the circuit boards of your desktop LCD monitor.  That fee includes shipping the LCD back to you.  So as long as only capacitors need replaced (about 85% of LCDs I’ve seen only require that) it will only cost you $49.95 for me to repair your LCD monitor.  If I am unable to repair the monitor or it is too expensive to repair and you do not want it shipped back to you, I will refund you $29.95.  With that you have only spent $20 and I will take care of disposing of it properly.
If you have any questions about this repair, please feel free to email me. If you are ready for me to repair your LCD then click the payment button below:
