About
My name is Benjamin Burrows, currently 34 yrs. old and happily married to the most beautiful woman in the world for 12 years now with 3 boys and 1 daughter.
We reside in NW Ohio which kinda sucks. The job market isn’t that great and the weather isn’t interesting enough, not enough snow storms or good thunderstorms. I have owned computers for the past 25 years, first starting with an Adam computer. Since about 2000 I have been a lot more active and vocal in regards to technology. In 2003 I started sending out the original UBCD on CD. Found an awesome freeware program with AutoPatcher a few months later and then decided to start my own project. I started UBCD4Win in the early half of 2004 and am very proud of the success we have had with the awesome tool we developed. I am always looking for new and better ways to help people with their computers. In early 2008 I created a Gizmo’s CD based on his awesome top 46 list with Ian Richards blessing. It went pretty well for a few months until he changed the layout of his site and list. Oh well, maybe someday I will have the time to create a new Gizmo’s DVD based on his new list? I launched my Burrows Solutions website in early 2009 and offer many services. Mostly it is used for selling UBCD, UBCD4Win, Ultimate Boot DVD, and a few other CD’s or DVD’s. However I hope to add some repair services also such as capacitor replacement for motherboards and DC adapter replacement for laptops. I have been doing these types of repairs at work for the past few years and am quite confident in my abilities.Education and Employment:
I am mostly self taught and quite honestly that is about the best way to learn! You can be taught anything in a school, but you actually have to DO IT in order to really be able to do it. I took a few classes in high school and attempted to attend college. After a semester I thought that I needed more money and needed to party more?? I am disappointed in myself in this regard but am happy with the success I have still been able to accomplish. UBCD4Win has been in countless magazines and mentioned almost everywhere!
So I continued to work at McDonald’s and partied too much. I was still able to work my way up to First Assistant Manager and made decent pay. However I got married and had a few kids so those years were really tough. After 7 years at McD’s I had to move on to a slightly better job and pay. So I started working for Arby’s. I was hired in as an Assistant Manager and worked my way up almost becoming a GM. I grew frustrated with the BS so after 4 years I moved on again. Again an Assistant Manager but at Bob Evans. After 1 1/2 years I grew tired of this also so I left and focused on what I loved the most, computers. I considered opening my own business but am really glad I didn’t. I hadn’t learned quite enough about life and business at that point. But I’ll tell you though restaurant management taught me a lot. I learned how to save money and how the world really is. None of the people that worked at any of the stores really cared about anything. You are supposed to take care of your employees and customers but this is just BS. I worked with a lot of great people that taught me a lot but am really glad I am away from all the politics and BS.
For the past 4 years I have been working at a small “mom and pop” computer shop. I will tell you this, even though the pay isn’t that great it is the best job I’ve ever had!! I have learned a lot and some of the things I learned in management has helped me and I think it has helped the business also.My hobbies include:
Computers, football, music, weather (storm chasing) and astronomy.I currently have: 3 computers for myself, 2 for the wife, and each of my three boys have a computer.
